P-Day has finally Arrived!!!!!!
We finally received a letter (email) from Jayden, he is enjoying himself, you can read below.
The MTC has been a crazy great experience! I love it here!
learning the language is great. my Spanish is coming along quite well. We study
in our classroom from 8am to 11. then lunch. then right back to study or we
will teach our investigator. his name is Roberto. he is from Argentina and
speaks only Spanish. the first lesson was extremely difficult to teach. we had
no idea what we were doing. then it all went up hill. lesson two we taught him
to pray and the plan of salvation. he seemed to understand it and we asked him
if he would go to church on Sunday. he agreed. then lesson 3 we taught him the
Atonement, repentance, resurrection, baptism, confirmation, and enduring to the
end. then we asked him if he wanted to be baptized. he said he needed to know more
about the church, but that he was completely open to the idea. in lesson four
we talked to him about the book of Mormon, we explained who Joseph Smith was
and how the book of Mormon came about. we told him about the first vision and
showed him a picture from one of our pamphlets and he kept asking "is this
for real? are you serious?" we just kept explaining that it was true. we
told him how important Joseph Smith was to the church and we read lots of
scripture. then we asked if he would pray to know if the church was true.
teaching has been an incredible experience.
The food here is incredible. its just like eating school
lunch but its free and we can get as much as we want. Me and my companion love
the food. We eat everything. We found a plan where we can go to different lines
and grab two entree's each, then go sit down and trade. we eat so much. I'm
surprised i'm not already fat!!!! It's probably because we are in the gym so
much. My companion went to Manti high school and played football, so he loves lifting.
He has a full ride scholarship to Weber State when he comes home. We lift lots
of weights and then play lots of basketball. I think I can honestly say i'm the
best player here. at least i haven't seen anyone better than me. maybe some
day.
Waking up here hasn't been to bad. especially with today
being P-day and we can take a nap. I've been pretty exhausted tho. All I do here so far
is eat, learn Spanish, and teach. I did sing in the choir for our Sunday night
devotional. it was a crazy awesome experience. we sing every Tuesday and Sunday. The spirit is so strong when we sing.
